AI overage is off by default. An owner can switch it on and set a hard ceiling for extra credits, so your firm never spends beyond the limit you set.

Frequently Asked Questions
What counts as an AI credit?
Each AI action draws from your monthly pool: summarising a document, extracting facts or key dates, drafting an email, generating a checklist, or running AI chat. Small assists like autocomplete cost a fraction of a credit. Viewing, editing, and organizing your matters and documents never uses AI credits.
What happens when I hit the AI limit?
On Free, AI features pause until your monthly credits reset, or until you upgrade to Essentials or Advanced. On Essentials and Advanced, they pause unless an owner has enabled overage. Either way, your data, matters, and documents are never blocked: only AI actions wait.
How do seats work?
Essentials is $29 per seat per month and Advanced is $79 per seat per month, and every member of your firm counts as a seat, including the owner. On Advanced, each seat also adds 1,500 AI credits to a pool the whole team shares, so a 3-lawyer firm gets a 4,500-credit pool. Seats are billed through Stripe and you can change them at any time as your team grows or shrinks.
Is the Free plan really free?
Yes. The Free plan is free for up to 2 seats with no card required and no time limit. It is not a trial. You can run your practice on it for as long as it fits your firm.
Can I cancel Essentials or Advanced?
Yes, anytime from inside the app. You keep your paid plan until the end of your billing period, then move back to the Free plan automatically. Nothing is deleted. Your matters, contacts, and documents stay with you.
How is Advanced different from Essentials?
Advanced gives you a per-seat AI credit pool that grows with your team (1,500 credits per seat versus the flat 500 on Essentials), so a 3-lawyer firm shares a 4,500-credit pool. It also includes 5× the storage (250 GB vs 50 GB) and first access to new premium AI models as they ship. The platform and every feature are otherwise the same.
