Our family law department is made up of a team of five attorneys, a paralegal and a legal secretary, all assigned full time to serving our clients' needs in a broad range of family law matters including divorce, child custody, child support, paternity, adoption, guardianship, domestic violence and civil union matters. Our team approach offers our clientele a unique and unparalleled level of individualized attention. This department works in conjunction with the firm's broader litigation capabilities as well as the firm's tax, estate planning and conveyancing services to provide our clients with full, in-house service.
Our Intellectual Property & Technology Law Group spans traditional practice boundaries to provide clients with a unique blend of legal resources, tailored to meet your challenges. We are committed to providing our clients with responsive, personalized service and to fostering the growth of Hawaii's high technology and intellectual property resources.
Our labor and employment expertise covers the complex relationship between state and federal legislation governing the rights and obligations of employees and management in the workplace. We advise and represent employers in all areas of employment law, including hiring and termination, workers' compensation, wrongful discharge, employment discrimination and harassment, collective bargaining, and compliance with mandatory laws, such as Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act.
Our work in this area is with land owners and developers, ranging from large trusts and corporations to individuals. At one time or another, we have represented almost every major landowner in the state. We have, for example, assisted clients in the development of second cities, vacation resorts, shopping centers, raw land subdivisions, and condominium developments ranging from two-unit buildings to large mixed-use projects.
Our litigation expertise covers a wide range of areas. Where appropriate, we practice a team approach to complex litigation, but we remain cognizant at all times for the need to achieve a client’s desired result in the most cost-effective manner.
