After working eight years in a reputable firm in Downtown Calgary, Amanpreet Grewal decided to continue her legal journey by starting Lumina Lawyers LLP.

Assisting clients during some of the most stressful and challenging times in their lives is what drove Amanpreet to practice primarily in the areas of family law, matrimonial law, and immigration law.
As a family law and matrimonial law lawyer, Amanpreet relies on her extensive litigation experience to assist clients in Court, regularly appearing before the Provincial Court of Alberta and the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta. She also has experience in alternative dispute resolutions (ADR), including judicial dispute resolutions (JDR), mediations, and arbitrations.
As a first-generation Canadian born to immigrant parents, Amanpreet has firsthand experienced the benefits and challenges of Canadian immigration. As an immigration lawyer, Amanpreet has prepared and filed all types of immigration and temporary status applications, including family class sponsorship (spouses and parents), federal skilled workers, provincial nominees, humanitarian and compassionate permanent residence applications, work permit applications (and renewals), study permit applications (and renewals), temporary resident permits, and temporary resident visas (visitor’s visas and the Super Visa). Amanpreet also assists clients with previous refusals through the appeals process. She has appeared before the Federal Court of Canada and the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (Immigration Division and the Immigration Appeal Division).
Amanpreet is also fluent in the Punjabi and Hindi languages. This enables her to provide legal assistance to Punjabi and Hindi-speaking clients in Canada and abroad in a language that the client feels comfortable with, in addition to clients from all other backgrounds and cultures.
