How much is the fee for filing cyber libel case

If this incident happened within the Philippines, you may file a criminal complaint for Cyber Libel under Section 4(c)(4) of Republic Act No. 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, in relation to Article 355 of the Revised Penal Code on Libel.

Cyber libel occurs when a person publicly and maliciously imputes to another an act, condition, or circumstance that tends to dishonor, discredit, or put that person to public contempt, using a computer system, social media platform, or any similar means.

a.) Since you mentioned that you already have all your evidence, you must now prepare a detailed complaint affidavit, narrating how and when the defamatory posts or statements were made, including screenshots, links, and witnesses (if any).

b.) You should then submit your complaint to the Cybercrime Division of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) or the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG). They will help authenticate your digital evidence and trace the origin of the posts.

c.) Once verified, the NBI or PNP-ACG will file a case before the Office of the City Prosecutor, who will issue a subpoena to the respondent for counter-affidavit.

d.) If probable cause is found, the case will be filed in the Regional Trial Court (Special Cybercrime Court) having jurisdiction over the place where you reside or where the defamatory material was accessed.

You also have the option to file a civil case for damages under Article 26 of the Civil Code (for acts that violate your dignity, privacy, or peace of mind), especially since the humiliation affected your workplace reputation.
