Advice on Faroese company law is part of our extensive experience with Faroese commercial law. We provide advice on establishment of companies, mergers, demergers and reconstructions. We also provide foreign companies with advice in connection with the establishment of companies and branches in the Faroe Islands.

Faroese company law is to a large extent based on Danish company law, which has its roots in the law of the European Union. Faroese company law is, however, as is other Fareose law, specific for the Faroe Islands, and foreign companies should therefore investigate Faroese company law more specifically prior to entering into activities in the Faroe Islands.

We provide citizens and authorities with advice on administrative law in the broader sence.

We also provide advice and represent clients in connection with employment matters - both with regard to persons working for public authorities and private companies.

Advokatskrivstovan provides advice on Faroese insurance legislation. We provide advice in connection with the establishment and organization of insurance companies, cases with regard to damages, questions in connection with responsibility and right of recourse.

Faroese insurance legislation has distinctive characteristics. For example there is to a certain extent a monopoly for Faroese insurance companies to enter into insurance agreements in the Faroe Islands. Foreign companies, which start activities in the Faroe Islands, should be aware of this and make their investigations in this connection.
