Golden Visa - What is it?

The Residence Permit for Investment Activity Scheme (ARI) allows you to obtain a permanent residence permit in Portugal and to travel freely in most European Countries.

What are the benefits of obtaining a Golden Visa?

Enter Portugal exempt from the residence visa requirement;

Reside and work in Portugal, having to stay in Portugal for at least 7 days in the first year and at least 14 days in subsequent years;

Travel in the Schengen area without a visa;

Benefit from family reunification;

Apply for a Permanent Residence Permit according to the Foreigners’ Act;

Apply for the acquisition of Portuguese nationality, by naturalization, fulfilling the other requirements required by the Nationality Law.
