The Oratory Foundation

The Oratory Foundation, based in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, is a distinguished institution dedicated to enhancing oratory and performance skills through comprehensive training programs. Established by Deborah Jean-Baptiste-Samuel, an accomplished attorney and orator, the foundation offers specialized instruction in poetry writing, debating, public speaking, and the interpretation of Shakespearean literature. By transforming classical texts into dynamic stage productions, the foundation provides students with immersive learning experiences that bridge academic study and practical application.

Over the years, The Oratory Foundation has earned a reputation for excellence, producing numerous oratorical performances, including five of Shakespeare's plays: "Macbeth," "The Merchant of Venice," "King Lear," "A Midsummer Night's Dream," and "Othello." These productions are noted for their robust Caribbean interpretations, infusing traditional narratives with local cultural elements to create relatable and engaging performances. The foundation's commitment to nurturing talent is evident in its long-standing relationships with students, many of whom join as young as seven and continue through their tertiary education.
