The lack of available flights alone is usually not sufficient, but broader safety concerns may be relevant. Your parents may need to contact the Swedish Migration Agency (Migrationsverket) before their visa expires to inquire about a possible temporary extension or to receive guidance on lawful next steps.
Longer-term options, such as applying for a residence permit, are more complex. Family reunification for parents is quite restricted under Swedish law and typically requires strong dependency factors. Asylum may be an option if your parents have an individual and well-founded fear of persecution or serious harm if returned to Iran, but this is a significant legal step that should be carefully evaluated. Given the risks of overstaying a visa and the potential long-term consequences, I strongly recommend a consultation as soon as possible to assess the safest and most appropriate path forward.
