Cheung and Choy was established by Simon Cheung and Choy Man in 2002. Since then, we have built a wealth of experience in many major aspects of the law in Hong Kong, in particular, we have considerable experience in corporate finance, such as IPO, mergers and acquisitions, rights issues, share placings, general offers and issue of bonds etc. Our practice areas cover corporate and commercial, litigation, intellectual property and real estate matters. Today, we have a team of 19 lawyers (including Hong Kong-qualified lawyers, one PRC lawyer and one Intellectual Property Manager) together with around 30 supporting staff members. We provide a broad range of top quality legal services, including cross-border transactions to both multi-national and local corporate and individual clients in Hong Kong, China and other jurisdictions.

We have assisted a number of companies in their initial public offerings (IPO) on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, acting for the companies or sponsors. Our clients are both local and overseas companies with business interests in real estate, finance, shipping and entertainment. The companies which we had involved in their successful listings on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange include Hong Kong Finance Group Limited (Stock Code: 1273), Winson Holdings Hong Kong Limited (Stock Code: 8421), AV Promotions Holdings Limited (Stock Code: 8419) and Tong Kee (Holding) Limited (Stock Code: 8305). We also provide advice on pre-IPO restructuring, compliance with post listing continuing obligations, securities laws, mergers and acquisitions, trusts, property development, restructuring, insolvency, due diligence investigations and other corporate finance matters. We have individual clients to whom we provide advice on a wide range of business law, company law and contract law.

We represent both companies and individuals in both civil and criminal litigation matters. We provide advice on intellectual property, personal injuries, employee compensation, international trade, trust, matrimonial, contractual disputes, partnership and shareholder disputes, employment, arbitration and mediation matters. We advise and represent our clients in different areas of litigation before courts and tribunals at all levels.
