As a firm, we have a particular specialism in immigration law, with our Managing Director being the first solicitor in Glasgow to be accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in this field.

Our immigration practice is the largest in Scotland. Uniquely, there are three accredited immigration law specialists at the firm. The firm client’s in this area range from foreign royalty and millionaire businessmen; footballers, academics and world-renowned artists; universities and students; to contentious deportation and family migration cases.

We have solicitors specialised in human rights and asylum law and have a dedicated team ready to assist in cases involving minors or those who have been the victims of trafficking.

The firm has detailed technical experience in all aspects of the points-based system, having delivered external training in this area and completed applications under all heads of the system. Several reported cases have resulted from actions taken on behalf of clients, including cases to the Supreme Court of the UK.

Our human rights practice has been involved in several high profile cases attracting not only media attention but success for the clients. The firm maintains close contacts with various organisations and has experience of strategic litigation in this area.

Employment Law

• initial consultations in one off employment issues including on assessing the terms of a settlement contract
• ACAS conciliation- this is the first step in an employment tribunal process which’s mandatory if a claim is to proceed to the tribunal.
• preparing and submitting a claim to the employment tribunal (ET1)
• representation throughout the tribunal process including at the final hearing and appeals tribunal
• Negotiation of settlement- this continues throughout the claim process so that you always have the best options open to you throughout
• Judicial mediation- this is a process open to a limited type of case, whereby parties try to reach agreement with the assistance of an impartial tribunal judge before a final hearing takes place

• ACAS conciliation- responding to an ACAS notification effectively can often be the most significant step in a case as it can help parties each a solution before a claim is submitted reducing costs for both parties
