Immigration permit
To begin with, you need to understand how migration processes are regulated in Ukraine. The first thing to know is the migration quota. Every year, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine determines the number of foreigners or stateless persons who can receive permission to immigrate.
The quota includes such categories of people as:
- Persons who arrived on the territory of the country in order to contribute to the development of science, culture and education;
- Persons who are valuable personnel and can make a significant contribution to the development of the economy;
- Brothers and sisters, grandparents, as well as grandchildren of citizens of Ukraine;
- Persons who contributed to the development of the economy by making a contribution of USD 100,000;
- Persons who are refugees or victims of human trafficking (provided that they have been in the territory of Ukraine for at least 3 years, without traveling abroad);
- Close relatives of the immigrant (mother, father, minor children), as well as husband or wife;
- Former citizens of Ukraine.
Outside the quotas, the following categories of people receive the right to immigrate:
- Husband/wife of a citizen of Ukraine (provided that the marriage lasts more than 2 years), children of a citizen of Ukraine, as well as his parents;
- Persons who are Ukrainians by territorial origin;
- Guardians or custodians of citizens of Ukraine;
- Persons under the care of citizens of Ukraine.
You can apply for immigration to Ukraine both within the country and abroad. The validity period of the immigration permit is from 1.5 months to 1.5 years.
If you have been denied an immigration permit, you can apply again no earlier than one year after the denial. And of course, in order to apply for an immigration permit, you need to collect a certain list of documents.
You may be denied immigration permission if you:
- Wanted man;
- A person who commits acts that violate the peace, war crimes or crimes against humanity;
- A person who submitted documents for immigration with false information.
What documents need to be collected
- A copy of an identity card confirming citizenship, citizenship or statelessness;
- Document on the place of residence;
- Documents on the composition of the family;
- Certificate of narcologist;
- Medical certificate (form #028);
- Certificate of criminal record;
- Receipt for payment of state duty and other services related to immigration.
