Our Corporate and Commercial Practice Group provides general corporate advisory services to national and international companies, operating in the Nigerian economy.
At the core of our Corporate and Commercial practice is our ability to provide pragmatic and inventive business solutions to our clients for the effective implementation of their business goals.
We offer our clients risk assessment and compliance advisory services based on their individual needs and we help them to formulate and put in place effective compliance programs.
We conduct internal investigations into allegations of misconduct for our multinational clients and their Board of Directors.
We counsel and represent clients, their officers and employees facing criminal investigations, regulatory investigations, and sanctions and debarment investigations by multilateral development finance institutions. We assist our clients to anticipate potential prosecution and adequately respond to the allegations.
We are highly experienced in representing clients in multi-jurisdictional investigations involving MLAT requests.
We prepare and represent Client’s officers and employees before legislative oversight investigations and hearings.
Our team has significant experience in advising on a broad range of criminal legislations including Nigeria’s Advance Fee and Other Related Offences Act, the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Act, the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunals Act, the Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Act, and other foreign legislations which may affect our client’s operations in Nigeria such as the UK’s Bribery Act, the Proceeds of Crime Act and US’s Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Our Immigration and Labour Practice Group advises on compliance with Immigration and Labour Laws and Regulations.
The team possesses appreciable experience in Nigerian Immigration Law and Practice and is routinely instructed by Nigerian and foreign clients to act as their Immigration Advisers. To this end, we advice our Clients on the provisions of the Law and where required, assist them in obtaining Immigration facilities (Permits, Quotas, Visas, etc) required for their operations in Nigeria.
We dispense our services with dispatch due to our expertise and broad experience in this area of practice and our longstanding excellent working relationship with the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) and the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission [NIPC].
Our Labour practice entails us rendering advise to clients on a broad range of labour issues including trade union regulations, private sector pension schemes and retirement benefits; staff negotiations, employment contracts and employment protection.
