If my landlord increases my rent without my agreement and gives 15 days to move out what should I do

My rent expired last year to be renewed this year, and upon renewal my landlord increased the rent without my consent and gave me 15 days to pack out.

Do not call the landlord, but instead write a letter to him telling him it is illegal to unilaterally increase rent without discussing it with you and that the said 15days notice is illegal and void and that if he refuses to abide you will seek for redress to enforce your right at the court and seek for damages too. make sure he acknowledge a photocopy of the letter.
