Mohamad Redzuan Idrus is a Partner at Azmi & Associates with extensive expertise in general litigation, conveyancing, Islamic finance, Islamic wealth management planning, and corporate law. The firm is recognized for its commitment to providing high-quality legal services across various sectors, including corporate litigation, real estate, and wealth management.
He holds a 2nd Class Upper Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) (Hons) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (2001), where he graduated in the top 10% of his class and received the prestigious Rector’s Award. Additionally, he was the Valedictorian at IIUM’s 17th Convocation, delivering a speech in front of HRH Sultan Pahang. Redzuan was called to the Bar in the High Court of Malaya in 2002.
He is also a certified Mediator (2020), NLP Practitioner (2016), and Coach (2017). Over the years, he has built a reputation as one of the leading lawyers in Malaysia, particularly in Islamic estate planning and wealth management.
Before joining his current firm, Redzuan was instrumental in the amalgamation of Fariz Halim and Co. in 2016, where he played a key role in branding, marketing, and establishing the brand until 2024. His career also includes serving as the Lead Counsel for Perniagaan Emas Anuar Sdn Bhd since 2005, where he has handled their real estate portfolio and various other legal matters.
His contributions as a corporate lawyer are well recognized. He has successfully defended state religious authorities in civil claims at both the High Court and Appeal Court, drafted numerous Joint Venture Agreements for state religious authorities, and represented high-profile clients in the real estate sector.
Currently, Redzuan serves as the Chairman of the Islamic Finance Transaction Subcommittee of the Penang Bar Committee. His expertise in wealth management planning for high-net-worth Muslim clients includes strategies involving Hibah, Wasiat, Wakaf, Trust arrangements, and spouse arrangements on jointly acquired properties.
He is also known for his active involvement in professional development and has organized several significant conferences and workshops, including the Islamic Finance Conferences and Business Talks under Aric Sdn Bhd. Furthermore, he is a sought-after panel speaker for CIMB Islamic Bank Preferred Clients and has been a trainer to Bar Council speakers during the National Symposium of CPD for Bar Council.
In addition to his legal practice, Redzuan is an influential figure in the business community of Penang and Kedah, having established the first BNI chapter in Kedah and bringing in 8 new referral partners as the First Gold Club Member.
