We also negotiate, draft and review Agreements for Sale and purchase of land, Negotiate, draft and review  Memorandum of Understanding and Joint Venture Agreements between land owners and financiers or developers, drafting of Transfers of Land or Lease, drafting of both Commercial and Residential short term and long term Leases for both  land Developers and individual clients, drafting of assignments and novation agreements, procuring execution, stamping and registration of transfers and the Leases. Advising real estate developers on various real estate financing options, various options on property development structuring, legal framework and management practices  and generally advising clients on various matters relating to Real Property. 

We handle matters relating to drafting of wills, petitioning for grant of Probate or grants of Letters of Administration of estates. Applying for summons for confirmation of grants of Probate or grants of letters of Administration.  Formation and running of trusts. Rendering opinions to clients on various matters relating to the law of succession.

We also handle matters relating to marriage, divorce, children, adoption and matrimonial property.

Corporate Commercial 
This unit deals with all aspects of commercial legal practice including, without limitation: formation of companies, administration of companies including regulatory compliance audit and advisory and statutory filings, registration  of branches  of  foreign companies, mergers and acquisitions, reorganization and restructuring of companies, sale and purchase of businesses, registration of trusts, public benefits organizations (formerly known as Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs)), businesses, partnerships, clubs and societies, registration and administration of Co-operative societies and Saccos.

The unit also deals with ICT and telecommunications law, labour and employment law, corporate finance, joint ventures and preparation, negotiation and review of a wide range commercial agreements among other aspects of commercial practice.

Immigration

With the increasing interest by foreign investors and multinationals in Kenya as the gateway to Africa; and Nairobi fast becoming the regional business hub, the demand for immigration services has continued to rise. 

This unit has been created to assist foreign investors and expatriates with legal advisory services on immigration matters; obtaining visas, special passes, dependant passes, work permits and applications for permanent residence and dual citizenship among others.

MKK Advocates’ Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department offers comprehensive dispute resolution services in all areas of Kenyan Law. The matters handled by this Department include, without limitation: commercial disputes, tax litigation, employment and labour related disputes, environment and land matters, bank litigation, defamation, debt recoveries and collection, negligence claims, accident claims, work injuries compensation, insurance claims, intellectual property rights disputes, immigration appeals, mediation and arbitration proceedings, constitutional cases, judicial review, criminal cases and matrimonial causes.

We conduct searches and due diligence and handle registration of trademarks, patents, utility models, industrial designs and copyright recordals. In relation to this, we draft licensing, assignment, franchise as well transfer agreements. We also render opinions to clients on various matters in the area of Intellectual Property rights and their protection.

In addition to dealing with employment and labour related disputes, MKK Advocates also drafts employment contracts and render opinions to Clients in this area of practice
