Mr. Sangay Dorji is the founding partner of Nubyul Law, a leading law firm in Bhutan specializing in dispute resolution, litigation, arbitration, and legal representation. A graduate of Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Postgraduate Diploma in National Law (PGDNL), Mr. Dorji began his career as an extern at the Office of the Attorney General (OAG). There, he played an instrumental role in prosecution, drafting chargesheets, rebuttals, legal memorandums, and judgment enforcement. His experience includes negotiating settlements between victims and incarcerated individuals and advising government agencies on legal compliance. He was also involved in reviewing the OAG’s Due Diligence Manual and creating legal resources for district legal officers, further solidifying his expertise in legal advisory and dispute management.
Mr. Dorji expanded his arbitration and litigation experience at Nyindha Law Firm, where he worked on significant construction contract disputes and civil litigation cases. His proficiency in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) is enhanced by his completion of professional-level courses in mediation and negotiation, allowing him to facilitate peaceful settlements and reduce litigation burdens for clients.
In addition to his work in private practice, Mr. Dorji is committed to pro bono legal services and leads initiatives that provide legal representation to underrepresented communities and individuals.
