Arefin Khan

Mr. Arefin Khan is a third-generation lawyer and a key member of Stellar Chambers. Before joining the firm, he trained at two of Bangladesh’s top litigation chambers, working closely with leading practitioners. He has participated in landmark writ petitions that contributed to significant legal reforms and has built strong experience in high-value international arbitration. Arefin also advises local and international clients on corporate, regulatory, and company law matters.

Successfully represented Globe Pharmaceuticals Group in World Bank Sanctions Proceedings, preventing potential multi-bank debarment.

Acted for Germania Trest Consortium in High Court arbitration applications involving claims over USD 170 million.

Represented MGI Media AG (Switzerland) in arbitration matters against BTCL involving multimillion-dollar telecom disputes.

Advised multinational and major local clients, including Aman Group, BAT, Concord, Diners Club, GBB, and Britannia Group on regulatory and compliance issues.

Advised Globe Pharmaceuticals on establishing Bangladesh’s first biotechnology company, including drafting R&D agreements with IP and confidentiality protections.

Provided regulatory guidance to Visa Worldwide on mobile financial services, cross-border transfers, AML, and sanctions considerations.

Conducted litigation and due diligence for companies such as CBSIL, Prudential Securities, Palmy Shoes, Evergreen Products, and United Surgical Ltd.
