Based on the information provided, it is possible for you to seek custody of your children. Custody decisions in Nigeria are primarily guided by the best interests of the child. Factors such as the ability of each parent to provide for the child's physical, emotional, and psychological needs, as well as any history of violence or abuse, will be taken into consideration.

Given the incidents of domestic violence you have experienced during your marriage, it is important to document these instances and seek legal protection, such as a restraining order, if necessary. Our team of experienced family law attorneys can help you navigate the legal process and advocate for your rights as a parent.

Furthermore, not having undergone a court wedding does not necessarily impact your rights as a parent. However, it may affect certain legal aspects such as property rights or inheritance. We can provide you with guidance on how to address these matters as well.

We encourage you to schedule a consultation with one of our attorneys at your earliest convenience to discuss your case in more detail and explore your options for seeking custody of your children. Our team is committed to helping you protect your rights and ensure the well-being of your children during this challenging time.

Please feel free to contact us with any further questions or concerns you may have.
