Choubey & Co. has over 10 years of experience in Intellectual Property Laws, especially patents and designs. The firm has an exponentially growing practice in Trademark Laws. The firm provides best in class drafting, prosecution and litigation services in Intellectual Property and Tax Laws.
Gaurav is an IIT Kharagpur and BITS (Pilani) Alumni having experience of more than 10 years in the field of intellectual property. Gaurav holds a degree in Industrial & Production Engineering, an LL.B. with Honors in IP Laws, and M.B.A. in Engineering & Technology Management.
Gaurav has drafted and prosecuted hundreds of patent and design applications on behalf of a multitude of domestic and foreign clients, including individuals, start-ups, and large corporations. He has also handled litigation in patents, designs, and passing off matters for individuals as well as multi-national corporations. He regularly appears at the Indian Intellectual Property Office and High Court of Delhi and M.P. to represent clients.
He also assists and represents clients in critical IP and Technology Transfer transactions and negotiations, including contentious matters. Gaurav has worked with R&D teams of large corporations and universities to provide training on IP aspects and also assisted R&D teams with strategic and competitive patent intelligence at different stages of the product life cycle.
Gaurav is a member of the IP Forum of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). Apart from regularly speaking at various national and international conferences and seminars as an IP Expert, he also enjoys interacting with students as a visiting faculty at law schools.
Prior to founding Choubey & Co., Gaurav worked with leading Indian IP Law Firms K&S Partners and Obhan & Associates based in Delhi.

Dhananjaya holds LL.B. with Honors in Taxation & Finance and M.B.A. in Accounting and Finance from IBMR Academy. He is a seasoned advocate and taxation consultant having more than 15 years of experience in handling matters related to direct and indirect taxes.
He has handled tax matters for various regional, national, and international clients including, individuals, start-ups, and large business entities. Dhananjaya regularly appears before various judicial and quasi-judicial authorities to represent clients.

A patent application bearing Appl. No. 202121026173 was filed by Choubey & Co. in June 2021 with a provisional specification for a client based in Surendranagar, Gujarat. The complete specification was filed in July 2021 along with a Request For Expedited Examination (RFE). A first examination report (FER) was issued in August 2021, to which a detailed and comprehensive reply was promptly filed within 15 days. After filing of reply to the FER, the patent was directly granted in February 2022. In effect, the patent was granted within seven months of the filing of the RFE.
Utilizing the online e-filing and prosecution facilities enabled by the Indian Patent Office with its the state of the art IT infrastructure, the whole matter was seamlessly handled entirely remotely with the client based in Surendranagar, our patent attorneys based in Indore, Madhya Pradesh and the Indian Patent Office located in Mumbai, Maharashtra. No travel or posts were involved in the matter.
This case is an example of how far the Indian Patent Office and its practices have come towards digitization and enabling convenience for inventors and patent practitioners. This case is also exemplary in the sense that proper drafting and prosecution often lead to the minimization of the number of proceedings and the minimization of costs and time required for the grant of patents.
