Marriage and partition

Divorce is applied for at the district court with an application. Cohabitation and separation of property

Since 2011, the Act on the Dissolution of the Cohabitation of Cohabiting Spouses has also enabled the separation of property between cohabiting spouses under certain conditions. Under a cohabitation, spouses do not have the right to each other's property, but in a disputed situation, cohabiting spouses can also apply to the district court for an estate divider to separate their property. In this case, the estate distributor's task may include, for example, the dissolution of the property's joint ownership relationship. The estate distributor can also order compensation for investments made in the property of the other cohabiting spouse, if certain conditions are met.
