Sinha Verma Law Concern (SVLC) is the oldest commercial law firm in Nepal established in 1955 by late Devnath Prasad Verma, the first lawyer of Nepal with license no. one (1) as Senior Advocate and the Founder President of Nepal Bar Association. He was the pioneer in private legal practice in Nepal. Late Sushil Kumar Sinha and late Krishna Kumar Verma joined him later to run the firm jointly. Late Sushil Kumar Sinha, who was later honored by the Supreme Court of Nepal as a Senior Advocate, became the president of Supreme Court Bar Association. Late Krishna Kumar Verma, who was also honored as a Senior Advocate, was later appointed as Honorable Judge of the Supreme Court of Nepal.
SVLC became the pioneer in the tax practice in Nepal under the leadership of late Sushil Kumar Sinha. He developed the firm as the corporate and tax advisor and litigation law firm in Nepal. Mr. Anil Kumar Sinha, who has been appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court of Nepal, led the law firm as the lead partner together with Mr. Mahesh Kumar Thapa, partner, for a quite long time. With their expertise and experiences in corporate and taxation practice, SVLC is known to be the first choice commercial law firm in Nepal for local and international business clients.
SVLC is running in the third generation of lawyers and is currently being managed by Mr. Mahesh Kumar Thapa, Managing Partner, with the support of five (5) partners, each of them are experts in their filed, skilled lawyers and the same number of paralegal and support staffs. The lawyers in SVLC are dynamic, versatile and well capable of handling the diverse nature of issues in the area of their practice.
Two (2) offices in Kathmandu, one in Gairidhara and the other in Anamnagar, which was a city office, have been merged to one and have been shifted to Maitighar, Babarmahal, known as Kathmandu lawyers hub and easy access. SVLC has developed the expertise in corporate and tax practice.
