Criminal Litigation
AA Lawyers stepped in to represent a young man accused of a fatal stabbing in South Luanda. With less than 8 weeks to prepare, this involved 4 defendants. There were two eye witnesses to the case who described the client being at the scene. What were described by the prosecution as “focused and cogent submissions” submitted days before the trial was to commence, caused the prosecution to offer no evidence.
Senior Employee Alleges Fraud and Retaliation Against Multinational Conglomerate and Supervisor
Employment & Labor
The Afonso André Law Firm took on the employee’s case and began negotiations with the defendants, the multinational conglomerate and supervisor. The initial discussions did not result in a fair resolution, necessitating legal action. The law firm drafted a comprehensive legal complaint to initiate a court case. The complaint detailed the senior employee’s allegations, including the companies’ fraud, their supervisor’s role involvement in the fraud, the subsequent retaliation, and the extent of the damages sought.
AA, Lawyer presented a compelling and fact-based case during the initial conference with the Judge. This led to the scheduling of a settlement conference. Ultimately, the matter was resolved to the senior employee’s satisfaction through a settlement agreement. As a result of this resolution, the defendants, the multinational conglomerate and supervisor, were required to make a substantial monetary payment. This outcome spared the senior employee from the hardships and uncertainties of a protracted and emotionally distressing litigation process.
