About Us

We are a private law firm with a national, regional and international reputation for excellence.

The doors of the practice were opened in February 2015 by David Addo-Ashong, Marian Ekua Hayfron-Benjamin and Tawia Addo-Ashong. Three additional partners, Julia Selman-Ayetey, Kweku Eyiah and Enyonam Aheto-Tsegah, have since joined the firm. Together, they have assisted many of Ghana’s leading businesses to embrace change, resolve disputes, avoid conflict and stay abreast of the evolving industry and regulatory environment.

Our strength lies in our ability to understand our client’s unique concerns and to develop bespoke legal solutions that leverage our depth of knowledge. We have long-standing client relationships due to delivering our service with professionalism, responsiveness, transparency and efficiency.

At Ashong Benjamin and Associates, integrity is the cornerstone of our operations. We fully comply with Ghanaian bribery laws, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), and the UK Bribery Act.

As a leading Ghanaian firm, we are in a privileged position to make a positive impact and take corporate social responsibility seriously.

Employment & Labor

Underpinning the success of any business is its people, and the challenges of today’s rapidly evolving world can require a complete re-assessment of the employer-employee relationship. One of the country’s top law practices, Ashong Benjamin & Associates understands how critical it is for businesses to meet employment obligations, and effectively recruit, retain, and manage their employees.

Our firm services legal needs across a wide range of industries and professions. Our clients range from multinationals to smaller public and private companies, and operate in many industries including Healthcare, Telecommunications, Banking, Oil and Gas and Aviation. This mix is important to us, because it grants us insight into how techniques that work in one industry can be adapted to suit another.

This critical multisector knowledge allows us to provide strategic advisory, from board-level management issues, such as business restructures and executive hirings, to day-to-day employment and HR-related concerns, such as remuneration and disciplinary matters.

Our legal team also has unique strengths and a proactive approach in matters of employment litigation. We identify risks at an early stage, and provide strategic advice aimed at resolving litigation early, and limiting reputational and financial damage.  We offer pragmatic solutions in areas including Settlement Negotiation, Unfair Dismissal claims, Breach of Contract claims, Pension Scheme Liability, and Redundancy.
