• Khor Soon Lee v Public Prosecutor [2011] 3 SLR 201 (Court of Appeal) • Low Ah Cheow and Others v Ng Hock Guan [2009] 3 SLR(R) 1079 (Court of Appeal) - This case was taken up by Joseph Tan after the clients had their case mishandled by their earlier lawyers instructed for a trial without the costs-benefits-risks evaluation rendered to the clients’ peculiar circumstances. In any event, the appeal was allowed – reversing the High Court Judge’s decision and the principles established by the Court of Appeal remain significant until today with respect to the preparation of a will which calls for the “serious professional responsibilities which solicitors must uncompromisingly observe and discharge” independently.
