Firm History

Our partnership has its origins in two law firms in Bonn.

In 1906, Dr. Alex Meyer established a law firm in Bonn. In 1946 his son Alex Meyer-Köring took over the now respected and successful legal practice. In 1965, together with Dr. Constantin Privat a law firm that grew to five partners over the next 25 years.

In 1913 Dr. Peter Gilles admitted as a lawyer at the district court of Bonn. He connects in 1958 with Dr. Hans Hennekeuser to one of the first Bonn law firms, founded in 1966 by Jürgen v. Danwitz and later two more partners.

In 1990 the two partnerships merged under the name Meyer-Köring v. Danwitz Private together.

Since the turn of the millennium, the law firm has consistently focused on growth and specialization, which culminated in the opening of a second office in Berlin in 2002. In 2006 our law practice celebrated its 100th anniversary.

Since 2008, the law firm has operated under the name MEYER-KÖRING Rechtsanwälte Steuerberater. Today, MEYER-KÖRING is a renowned law firm operating nationwide with around 35 lawyers at two locations. The law firm has 18 partners, with one selected partner each managing the business in Bonn and Berlin.
