SP Law & Consultancy is an Istanbul-based law firm advising foreign nationals, international investors, and companies operating in Türkiye.

The firm was founded by Selim Polat, an attorney registered with the Istanbul Bar Association (Reg. No. 68892) who is also a certified sworn translator in English and Turkish. Turkish law operates entirely in Turkish — its courts, its contracts, its land registry records, and its administrative filings. For a foreign client, that language layer is frequently where an application stalls or a case becomes harder to defend. Legal strategy and certified translation are handled by the same person, so documents do not pass between a lawyer and an outside translator, and legal meaning is preserved rather than approximated.

The firm's principal areas of work are:

Immigration and foreigners' law — short-term, family, student and long-term residence permits, work permits, Turkish citizenship including citizenship by investment, appeals against refused applications, and deportation and entry-ban proceedings.

Real estate — title deed transfers, Land Registry due diligence, purchases completed by power of attorney, and property-linked residence and citizenship applications.

Corporate and commercial — company formation, share transfers, capital increases, and ongoing compliance for foreign-owned companies.

Criminal defence — representation from the investigation stage through trial, including for foreign nationals in custody, with the consular and interpretation dimension that arises in those cases.

Labour and employment — termination, severance and reinstatement claims, including the work-permit consequences that a dismissal creates for a foreign employee.

Insurance and compensation — traffic accident claims, coverage disputes, and proceedings against insurers.

Inheritance and enforcement — succession matters involving assets in Türkiye, and debt collection proceedings.

Clients deal directly with the attorney handling their matter. Where a client is outside Türkiye, most steps can be completed by power of attorney without travel.
