Jūlija Jerņeva, LL.M. is an EU law, competition, employment and M&A attorney, practicing since 2003.
Jūlija Jerņeva main focus of work lies with competition law. Jūlija has unique expertise in the field of unfair trading practices in business-to-business relationships in the food supply chain. She has represented clients in mergers, abuse of dominant position and cartel matters, advised on dawn raids, market inquiries and investigations across various industry sectors. Debora Garanča, M.Jur. co-heads our competition practice group and assists clients before Latvian and EU regulators and courts across all aspects of Latvian and EU competition law and public procurement law.

Brigita Tērauda, LL.M. is a recognized attorney in Latvia with respect to intellectual property rights, as well as corporate law. Anda Staltmane, Mag.iur., is an attorney in law firm VILGERTS and part of firm’s litigation and dispute resolution team. She represents firm’s clients in litigations concerning real estate and construction, commercial matters, insolvency and insurance.
Before focusing her practice on litigation, Anda worked in a law firm, where she gained broad experience in drafting contracts and exercising transactions in such areas as design and construction, sale and purchase of real estates, investments and project development, IT, as well as in company establishment, M&A, liquidation and corporate governance.
As an assistant to several insolvency administrators Anda has gained extensive work experience in the insolvency field. She has helped clients to avoid insolvency proceedings initiated by creditors, one of the major cases involving the debt due of EUR 9 Mio. She also has successfully defended the debtors’ related (holding) companies and previous management board members against claims brought by insolvency administrators. Agris Dēdelis, Mg.iur., joined VILGERTS during 2023.
Agris advises clients on contentious and non-contentious matters, with a focus on the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
Agris’ wealth of experience in both the private and public sector provides an invaluable balance no matter how complex or simple the matter in question is.
Prior to joining VILGERTS, Agris, gained invaluable experience assisting clients in contentious and non-contentious matters within a boutique Latvian law firm focused on advising pharmaceutical and healthcare companies. Agris also worked as a courtroom clerk at the Riga City Court, where his duties included preparing cases for hearing, recording the course of court hearings and preparing drafts of other documents in both civil and criminal cases.

Madara Zeltiņa, Mag.iur., joined VILGERTS during 2021.

Madara was involved in ensuring the legality of the municipality's work and representation of its interests before the Latvian courts in both civil and administrative proceedings, as well as providing legal support for the implementation of the 2021 administrative-territorial reform.
Madara has also worked as an assistant to judge in the Regional Administrative Court, where her duties included preparing the case for consideration, as well as preparing draft court rulings and other court documents.

Elizabete Bartansone, Mag.iur, advises the firm's clients on all legal matters related to corporate and immigration law, as well as regulated sectors.
As part of VILGERTS’ Corporate team, Elizabete assists clients with the formation of companies, corporate changes, liquidation, and mergers.
She also advises the firm’s clients in immigration law and obtaining residence permits in Latvia.
Elizabete assists the firm’s Regulatory team in client matters related to public procurement, various licensing procedures across a variety of different industries, as well as the registration of medical devices in Latvia.
In corporate and regulatory matters, Elizabete regularly assists many of the firm’s high-profile clients, including the Colonna group (Valdemara 8 SIA, Skanstes Investments), Stockmann, Citco Capital Solutions, Zenith, DECATHLON, BAO AS, Wingo Deposit SIA, Manitou and OC Vision.

Diāna Ķīse, LL.B., joined VILGERTS Real Estate & Construction team in 2022.
Diāna advises clients on all aspects concerning real estate & construction matters and assists the commercial and immigration teams.
Diāna is an LL.M. Public International Law student at Leiden University in the Netherlands. Her thesis focuses on maritime law and analyses jurisdictional issues in the ITLOS Tribunal concerning the Kerch Strait incident. Diāna has also authored articles in the areas of international law, environmental law, and human rights law.
Prior to joining VILGERTS, Diāna worked at one of the largest driving schools in Latvia, where she assisted the driving school in all of its legal matters, including matters concerning contract and employment law. In addition, Diāna acted as a Climate Reality Leader within the Climate Reality Project that works towards achieving sustainable development and solving the climate crisis by educating people worldwide. She also completed a commercial law internship at the Bright Network, assisting clients with recruitment matters. Bright Network works with international companies, such as Dyson, KPM, Goldman Sachs, and American Express.
