Labor and Employment

We are providing a range of legal services for national and international employers in all sectors. Our specialist lawyers have considerable experience advising clients on all aspects of Omani labour and employment law and practice as well as residency and social security rules and regulations.

Our expertise includes contract documentation, advising on employment aspects of commercial transactions, advising on the creation and management of all forms of staff benefit and incentivisation schemes.

We represent employers and employees before the Omani courts in respect of disputes arising from the employee-employee relationship (workplace disputes, unfair dismissal and protection of confidential information.)

Intellectual Property

Al Alawi & Co maintains a specialised Intellectual Property (IP) Cell comprised of experienced Litigation and Transactional lawyers. We advise across the gamut of legal, commercial and compliance issues, registration of trademark, notice of opposition, renewal of registration of trademark, restoration of trademark, passing-off, anti-counterfeiting actions, certificate of the register with regard to proposed assignments of registered trademarks, registration of registered user, cancellation of entry of a registered user of trademark, search, litigation, drafting of documents, protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights including rights relating to trademarks, copyrights, patents and designs. The firm also prepares intellectual property licensing and registered user agreements. We also advise on matters arising in connection with the media, communications and entertainment fields, competition law, institution of civil and criminal actions against infringers, licensing and franchising agreements and data protection advice.
