In a briefing released for the Bonn Climate Conference, Amnesty International warned that the climate crisis is causing devastating new harms to human rights worldwide. The report highlights how climate-fueled disasters are driving people into poverty, destroying homes, and causing food and water insecurity, with marginalized communities suffering the worst impacts.

Amnesty called on governments to deliver ambitious climate action through a just transition away from fossil fuels in all sectors. The organization also urged high-income countries to significantly increase climate finance for lower-income nations and called for greater protection for environmental human rights defenders, who face increasing violence and threats for their work.
