New UK trade sanctions against Russia, effective April 24, 2025 (likely coordinated internationally), expanded restrictions on exporting goods like specific chemicals, electronics, and machinery. 

Crucially, new prohibitions target technology transfers and certain software (energy, manufacturing, industrial design, oil/gas). Import bans were extended to synthetic diamonds processed in third countries and helium. Limited exceptions and licensing grounds apply.
