Is it really possible to collect a debt thru filing a case?

I am planning a case against a friend who has multiple swipes on my credit card but failed to pay me. Initially, she was a good payer but something happened and she stopped paying me. The total number of swipes was a huge amount. I also have an investment in her business but she stopped paying me with the interest and failed to return my investment. I was charged by the bank with interest for the swipes and since it's a huge amount I am still paying it. 4 yrs have passed and she still cannot pay me. I am planning to take it to court. Will I be able to get what she owes me... my investment, CC swipes plus the interest?
