Austill, Lewis, Pipkin & Maddox, P.C., was originally established in 1991 as Woodall & Maddox, P.C., by Michael B. Maddox and Thomas A. Woodall.  William A. Austill became a shareholder in the firm in January 1995 and a name change followed Mr. Woodall’s appointment to the Jefferson County Circuit Court in February 1996.  Mr. Woodall subsequently became a member of the Supreme Court of Alabama.

On February 1, 1999, Richard W. Lewis joined the firm as a shareholder.  Conley W. Knott became a shareholder in the firm on January 1, 2001.  Joseph E. B. (Jeb) Stewart became a shareholder in the firm on June 29, 2004.

On June 14, 2004, the firm was pleased to announce the opening of an office in Mobile, Alabama.  William E. Pipkin, Jr. and Terry A. Moore joined the firm with the opening of the office in Mobile.  Mr. Moore remained a member of the firm until January 2007, when he took office as an Associate Justice of the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals.

In August 2012, after a brief hiatus, Mike Maddox rejoined the firm. Martin Bloom joined the firm as a member in June 2016.

We have a professional staff of attorneys, supported by a team of paralegals and office staff.  The firm offers statewide representation to its clients and actively practices in all Alabama State and Federal Courts.  The Mobile office also offers representation in the Florida panhandle and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

The Birmingham office is located at 600 Century Park South, Suite 100, Birmingham, Alabama 35226. The Mobile office is located at 118 N. Royal Street, Suite 508, Mobile, Alabama 36602.
