For more than 50 years, we have been driven by a desire to create opportunities for our clients, to resolve their issues and to advocate for their interests. Our differentiators are straightforward: We are guided equally by passion and pragmatism.

A boutique law firm with core competencies in land use, zoning and complex business litigation, we are nimble, free of the elbows and fee constraints of larger firms. By staffing matters leanly with highly skilled practitioners, there is no learning curve. In this way, our clients enjoy tremendous efficiencies in time and legal spend.

Our excellence in practice and dedication to client service have been shaped by the firm's rich history, rooted in a collaborative culture in which attorneys and staff work with shared purpose to do and be our very best.

Why are we a recognized leader in Land Use & Real Estate law? Our deep familiarity with Connecticut’s land use process lets us confidently usher clients through the maze and multitude of legal, regulatory, legislative and interpersonal issues inherent in the development process.

We represent prominent developers, property owners, stakeholders, and municipalities in sophisticated land use and zoning matters before local, state, regional and federal agencies.

We handle a broad range of projects throughout Connecticut, including ground-up residential, commercial and mixed-use developments, redevelopments of brownfields and former industrial sites, medical office buildings, senior housing communities, and recreational facilities. In addition, we are often retained by international, national and regional corporations undertaking new developments or expansions across the state.

We approach every matter with a critical eye to the details that enhance a project’s viability, including compliance with local, state and federal statutes and regulations, all aspects of land use permitting, and environmental issues. We also represent clients before local planning, zoning, wetland, and conservation commissions throughout the State, as well as various state agencies, including the Office of State Traffic Administration and Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

Beyond legal technicalities, clients value our strategic input navigating the development process, including the interpersonal and community issues that often arise when projects come under public scrutiny. Whether it’s a highly-visible development with numerous stakeholders and complex concerns or one that’s relatively straightforward in nature, we arm our clients with pragmatic advice from concept to completion.

We also have a seasoned team that initiates and defends administrative appeals from local and state agency decision, in addition to litigating a variety of real estate issues from easement disputes to specific performance actions.  Our attorneys have litigated a variety of land use cases before the Connecticut Supreme, Appellate and Superior Courts.
