This practice area deals with structuring and managing international and local business transactions including Cross-border insolvency matters, Mergers and Acquisitions, Due Diligence, syndication, Corporate Restructuring, Divestment, Corporate Finance and Project Finance, and Capital Market transactions.
We also provide legal support for pre and post-privatization matters.
Intellectual Property
Our Intellectual Property Law department specializes in intellectual property protection of the works of our Clients. The trademark unit of this department conducts trademark searches, provides opinion on the availability and registrability of trademarks, files, procures, and generally prosecutes trademark applications in Nigeria, we procure trademark certificate and renew same for our Clients.
We assist clients in meeting the requirements for obtaining Patents and Registration of Designs. Although copyright protection of written works is automatic, we advise and assist our clients in registering their copyrights because it is difficult to prove the original authorship of an unregistered work. We register copyright in cinematograph films, conduct copyright litigation, draft copyright licenses, and exploitation agreements.
We maintain strong links with the ministry of trade and commerce and the Nigerian Copyright Commission, the major regulatory bodies vested with the responsibility of intellectual property protection in Nigeria.
