James Liew Khar Keng is the founder and also the Managing Partner of the firm. In 2011, he graduated with LLB Degree from the University of Tasmania, Australia and he was then admitted and enrolled as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaysia in year 2015.
James’ main area of practice is real estate transcations which include acquisition and disposal of residential, commercial and industrial properties as well as lands for development purposes. In addition, he also advises property developers in matters relating to Housing Development (Control and Licensing) Act, 1966 & Strata Management Act, 2013.
James’ other portfolio includes retail banking documentations (conventional and islamic) as well as advisory works and drafting various business agreements. He also advises clients in all matters related to the administration of estates of deceased persons.

Michael Kong Feng Nian holds the degree of Bachelor of Laws from the University of Tasmania, Australia and a Certificate of Legal Practice from the Malaysian Legal Profession Qualifying Board, which he obtained in 2012. He was then admitted and enrolled as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaysia in year 2013. Prior to join Messrs James Liew & Kong as a partner, he was attached to another firm specializing in banking litigation as well as corporate and conveyancing practice.
Michael is also admitted to the High Court of Sabah & Sarawak and therefore holds dual admission to both the Malaysian and Sarawak Bar. He has appeared at all tiers of the Malaysian Courts and is regularly engaged for trial and appellate work.
Michael’s handles general commercial and civil litigation (particularly sales of goods, banking, defamation, constitutional and administrative law matters) and criminal litigation. He is also involved in commercial, corporate, financing and conveyancing practice in which he is involved in the various aspect of law from licensing agreements, joint ventures, banking and corporate finance to real estate transactions, project development and corporate commercial transactions.

Poon Choong Yiew practises in the area of commercial and civil litigation involving contested and non-contested matters, with a primary focus on contract, debt recovery, tenancy, employment and industrial relations, commercial and corporate, real estate and property, probate and letter of administration, and matrimonial and family matters. He also handles appeals and judicial review.
Choong Yiew previously practised in banking litigation and with extensive experience in the area of hire purchase disputes, debt recovery matters, enforcement and execution, bankruptcy, companies winding-up, foreclosure, contractual matters and forfeiture of property by public authorities involving banking and financial institutions.
Choong Yiew graduated from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom with an LL.B (Hons) (Second Upper) in 2013. He subsequently obtained the Certificate in Legal Practice in 2014 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2015.

Hannah Teh Kiao Huoi graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (National University of Malaysia) in 2013. She admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2014.
Hannah has 5 years experiences working in Singapore law firm and a multinational insurance company, which is a fixed premium Protection & Indemnity Club. During the tenure in P&I Club, she has acquired shipping knowledge by attending multiple courses provided by Singapore Shipping Association and she is an associate of Association of Average Adjusters, an association expert in marine insurance and law recognized worldwide. In 2019, Hannah made the decision to come back Malaysia for good and she joined a reputable insurance company in city of Kuala Lumpur, which is the parent company of her previous employer in Singapore.
With Hannah’s extensive work experiences, her expertise is Shipping law / Maritime law which includes disputes between shipowners and/or charterers and any other third parties. She is also well versed in Insurance law, particularly in Hull Insurance, Cargo Insurance and Protection and Indemnity Insurance (third party liabilities insurance).
Apart from maritime law and insurance law matters, Hannah handles family matters such as divorce, nullity, drating will, grant of probate and letter of administrative. She is also involved in real estate transactions and retail banking documentation.

Lina graduated from the National University of Malaysia (known as University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM)) with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (Hons) in 2013. She was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on March 2015.
Lina’s primary area of practice is real property transactions which includes leases & tenancies, sale and purchase transactions for secondary properties as well as various developer’s projects. She also has vast experiences in handling banking related works such as both consumer and commercial banking facilities for most of the financial institutions in Malaysia.
Apart from real property transactions, Lina also involves in corporate transactions which include but not limited to advisory works, due diligence exercise, legal compliance work, reviewing, drafting and negotiating requisite corporate agreements such as business sale and purchase agreement, distribution agreement, merchandise agreements and other commercial agreement for local and overseas client.
