Muriel T. Lui is a former student of St Mary’s Primary School and College and St Joseph’s College.
She graduated from the University of the South Pacific in Vanuatu in 2005 with a LLB and sat her bar in Fiji in 2006. Muriel then became a law clerk with the Office of the Attorney General in 2006 while undertaking her bar, under the tenor of Taulapapa Brenda Heather-Latu as Attorney General. She was promoted to State Solicitor under the tenor of Aumua Ming Leung Wai as Attorney General within the Criminal Prosecutions Division the following year and then to Senior State Solicitor.
After spending about 2 years as a criminal prosecutor she undertook civil and commercial work where she was later promoted to Principal State Solicitor. In 2012 she was promoted to head the Civil Division as Assistant Attorney General where she held the position until her resignation in 2015 to take up the position of Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, heading the District Court Division of the Prosecution Section.
Muriel spent a total of 10 years with the Office of the Attorney General before setting up Lui and Chang with Mauga Precious Chang.
