Founded in 1957 as a civil law firm, we have continually expanded our field of activity by bringing on new partners.
Our team brings together a wide range of personalities with different professional specializations. As a modern business law firm, we place particular emphasis on the highest legal quality - quite naturally. Economic understanding and competent advice for our clients are our top priority. Only with this quality mindset can we achieve our goal: the success and trust of our clients.
Practice areas
Real Estate
Real estate is one of the broadest areas of law - from rental apartments to industrial plants. This involves buying, renting or leasing as well as risk assessment and financing. Leading tax consultants and real estate agents are our cooperation partners.
Not only is the purchase of a property a legal matter , its construction itself is accompanied by many complex questions. Are there servitudes (easements such as an acquired right of way) or could there even be "nasty surprises" hidden under the property such as sewer pipes or local water pipes? Due to our many years of relevant experience with large and small real estate transactions, we know both possible pitfalls and potential for conflict as well as the contractual safety precautions for buyers and sellers.
One of our firm's core competencies is the so-called "property development processing", i.e. the sale or purchase of real estate BEFORE it is built. Here we act as trustees for both contracting parties and handle all financial transactions required for the project via our trust accounts - to protect everyone involved.
We also support the development of properties. Our support ranges from applying for changes in zoning to developing properties and representing developers in local construction negotiations.
In addition to construction law, neighborhood law, broker liability and tenancy law are common areas of activity for our firm.
Business
The legal foundation on which entrepreneurial activities are built needs to be well thought out and cleverly planned. That is why we work with the founders to develop tailor-made partnership agreements that ensure that subsequent share transfers are handled smoothly.
The start-up statistics prove it year after year: more and more people are drawn to self-employment. Many start-ups begin as one-person companies and soon develop into employers, others start as a team with several partners. Whatever the case, as soon as a company has more than one owner, it needs clear rules for strategic and commercial decisions.
As a business law firm, we unfortunately know only too well that the shared enthusiasm of the start-up phase can turn into bitter legal disputes within a few years - unless clever agreements are made for the "worst case scenario". Disputes - in the worst case in court - arise not only when it comes to "fairly" distributing accumulated profits, but much more often when things have not gone as hoped and questions of personal liability suddenly arise that threaten the existence of the company.
Whether it's a new start-up or a company takeover - our motto is: the smart woman or man plans ahead. Even if it seems strange when starting out together to think about worst-case scenarios such as company dissolutions, exit scenarios or share transfers - "fake" about these and similar topics can end up costing everyone involved dearly. We want to prevent that with our advice.
Bankruptcy & Debt
Our law firm is repeatedly appointed as insolvency administrator by insolvency courts. In addition, thanks to our many years of experience, we can provide efficient advice to affected companies as well as banks and other creditors. We support clients in the preparation and implementation of restructuring and reorganization.
In our work as insolvency administrators or debtor representatives, our primary goal is to ensure the continued existence of companies in financial distress. Similar to a captain who uses his experience to try to bring his ship to a calm harbor in stormy seas, we bring our expertise to bear when insolvency is imminent in order to get the turbulence under control with operational reorganization measures. In addition to legal expertise, the insolvency administrator's management skills are also required. This is one of the reasons why our law firm has already been appointed as insolvency administrator in more than 300 cases.
