The Department of Family Law is responsible for all matters related to family: counseling of the future spouses prior to marriage, preparation of prenuptial agreements, adoption of minor children, regularization of identity documents and/or copy of the birth certificates of Dominican children born abroad, adoption, travel permits for minors, among others. The Department provides assistance in matters of paternity claims, child support, custody and visitation regimes, defense of the best interests of minors and everything related to the organization of family assets, and the rights and duties of the spouses.
