About Us
In 2019, we, attorney MMag. Dr. Dominik Schatzmann and attorney Pius Heeb, decided to merge our law firms. Since the beginning of 2024, attorney Patrik Baur - previously a long-standing employee of the firm - has been strengthening the firm as a partner. His extensive experience and deep understanding of our values and structures make him a valuable asset and an asset to our firm as a partner. Attorney Pius Heeb has since retired, but to our great delight, he will remain with us as an "of counsel" attorney. Attorney Pius Heeb will continue to support us with advice and action, and we can therefore continue to draw on his knowledge and wealth of experience as an outstanding attorney and long-standing district judge.
Pius Heeb, Dominik Schatzmann and Patrik Baur have more than 60 years of legal experience between them - Pius Heeb from the perspective of both a district judge and a lawyer, Dr. Dominik Schatzmann as a qualified economist and lawyer, but also as a passionate entrepreneur. Together with our team, we offer you individual solutions for every situation in life; be it in areas such as family and inheritance law, contract and compensation, company formation and corporate law, but also in administrative law matters as well as as a criminal defense lawyer. Dr. Dominik Schatzmann regularly gives lectures at universities or for continuing education courses, and Pius Heeb is still a regular examiner for the bar exam.
Since it is always important to us to maintain our lean and efficient structures on the one hand and to optimize them on the other, we are able to pass this on to our clients within the framework of fair and transparent pricing. We have therefore been providing reliable advice to many of our clients for many years on a wide variety of issues. Since we believe that everyone has a right to their rights, we also take on legal aid mandates and Dr. Dominik Schatzmann (e.g. as a trusted lawyer for the Liechtenstein women's shelter) and Pius Heeb (board member of the assisted living association) are also involved in numerous social institutions.
As lawyers, we are constantly confronted with exceptional situations of our clients in difficult life circumstances, be it in divorce proceedings or an inheritance dispute with family members. It is always important to us to structure our advice in such a way that the interests of our clients are protected in the long term and we always strive to achieve sustainable solutions. In addition, we work with all legal protection insurers and have now become the first point of contact for many legal protection insurers, including those from Switzerland and Austria, when it comes to Liechtenstein issues.
Dr. Dominik Schatzmann and MMag. Philipp Schnetzer are also admitted to practice as lawyers in Austria. Dr. Dominik Schatzmann's notary office can offer numerous other services "in-house" at fair conditions, from notarization when starting a company or simply authenticating a signature for a purchase agreement. We are also happy to advise you across borders and can draw on a broad network of permanent cooperation partners throughout Europe (including through Dr. Dominik Schatzmann's membership of the DACH Lawyers' Association) as well as the USA and the UAE.
Our firm was founded with the aim of providing our clients with first-class legal services. Since our establishment, we have continuously developed and expanded our range of services. Today, we are very proud to cover a wide range of legal areas and to assist our clients in a wide variety of legal matters.

Employment & Labor
Labour law
Whether as an employer or as an employee – we are happy to advise and represent you in all areas of private employment contract law and public employment law.
We support you in connection with the preparation of contracts, regulations and employment references, answer your questions about the rights and obligations of employees and employers and are available to you in all matters relating to the termination of employment relationships, such as abusive termination, release from work, termination at an inopportune time, etc.
Of course, we also represent your rights before courts and authorities and ensure the (extra)judicial enforcement of your claims arising from an employment relationship; be it in the form of wage claims, holiday compensation, overtime compensation or other claims.
Immigration
Right of residence and settlement
Liechtenstein has a fairly strict right of residence and settlement. The requirements for issuing a permit vary depending on whether the person is an EEA national, a Swiss national or a third-country national. The requirements for any revocation or expiration of a residence permit also vary.
In this context, we will be happy to answer your questions, represent you before the relevant authorities when it comes to the granting or revocation of a right of residence, coordinate everything necessary with domestic and foreign authorities and also advise you in related areas such as labor law (work permit) or criminal law (revocation of permits).
Family
Marriage and family law
Marriage and family law is as diverse as the individual families themselves. Problems and disputes between family members are often very stressful and emotional. Children in particular can suffer greatly from arguments between parents.
Our experienced lawyers are therefore committed to finding the most amicable solution possible, while safeguarding your interests, with which all parties agree - be it in the context of a separation or divorce, in maintenance issues, visitation and custody issues or other matters of marriage and family law.
Unfortunately, an amicable solution is not always possible. In such a case, you can trust that we will competently represent your interests and successfully assert your claims or defend against unjustified claims against you.
Elder Law
Inheritance law and succession planning
“Wem ghörsch?” and “Häsch Böda?” are questions that have long been asked first in Liechtenstein when you meet someone. From an heir’s perspective, whether someone owns “Böda” (real estate) and how much of it often depends on whether and to what extent they were taken into account in an inheritance matter. From a testator’s perspective, due to the close family structures in Liechtenstein and the fact that everyone knows everyone, many people are keen to plan the fairest, most comprehensive and clearest possible distribution of assets.
We advise and support you in all questions of inheritance law and help you with your succession planning. We assist you in the preparation of last wills and testaments, inheritance contracts and gifts and represent you as an heir or legatee in inheritance proceedings before the courts and authorities. Our experienced lawyers regularly act as executors of wills or as estate curators. In the event of a dispute, we will ensure that your inheritance and statutory share rights are enforced and represent you in legal disputes.
Real Estate
Construction and real estate law
When it comes to building real estate, various clarifications are necessary in a wide range of areas. We are happy to advise and support you in drawing up the necessary contracts (purchase, exchange and donation contracts, building lease contracts, mutations, easements, etc.), in obtaining the relevant permits and in the clarifications and contract implementation at the land registry office and the land transfer authority.
Of course, we are also your competent contact in all matters relating to public building law (building regulations, approval and notification procedures, etc.).
Business
Corporate law in general
We are happy to advise and support you in the establishment and administration of legal entities (associations, stock corporations, limited liability companies, institutions, foundations, etc.), partnerships (simple partnerships, general partnerships, limited partnerships), trusts and trust companies (trust reg.).
We will prepare the necessary documents for you (such as statutes, by-laws, trust deeds, etc.) and will also be happy to assist you in the management and administration of the company until its termination. In this regard, we can draw on years of experience and an extensive network of partners. Of course, we will also represent you in corporate law matters before courts and authorities.
Civil & Human Rights
Fundamental rights / human rights
Human rights or fundamental rights are rights that every individual is entitled to, regardless of gender, religion, ethnicity, etc. They protect the individual from unjustified interference by the state.
Our law firm is committed to protecting your fundamental rights and will be happy to advise you in this regard. Our lawyers can draw on many years of experience. You can also count on our expertise in individual complaint proceedings before the State Court, which, as a constitutional court, reviews the constitutionality and ECHR conformity of court decisions or legal norms.
Intellectual Property
Intellectual property law
Intellectual property law includes patent law (PatG), copyright law (URG), design law (DesG) and trademark law (MSchG). Intellectual property law primarily regulates issues such as the registration or extension of trademarks and designs as well as the exercise of copyright and related protective rights. We advise you on all matters relating to intellectual property law (in particular trademarks, designs, patents, utility models, works and image rights).
Bankruptcy & Debt
Debt collection, enforcement and bankruptcy law
We provide you with expert advice and representation in securing and collecting your claims or when claims are enforced against you. At your request, we will take over the enforcement of a claim from the first reminder through to legal enforcement and subsequent enforcement. If an enforceable title already exists - e.g. in the form of a legally binding payment order, judgment or legal opening order - we will support you in enforcing this title.
We are also happy to advise you on all aspects of bankruptcy law and can draw on the many years of expertise of attorney Pius Heeb as a former bankruptcy judge at the Princely Regional Court. We represent you in bankruptcy proceedings and in asserting your claims against the bankrupt and related claims (e.g. insolvency compensation). We also act in the official capacity of insolvency administrator.
Insurance
Insurance law
Whether it's health insurance, home contents insurance or pension insurance - we insure against various risks in a wide range of areas of life and rely on these insurances to pay out if an insured event occurs. It can be quite difficult to find your way around the whole pile of insurance terms and conditions.
When it comes to insurance matters, you can rely on the expertise of our team, which will be happy to advise you in all areas of insurance and assist you in asserting and enforcing your insurance claims.

Criminal law
Our lawyers have many years of experience in the field of criminal law. Attorney Dr. Schatzmann is a member of the Liechtenstein Criminal Defense Lawyers Association ( www.strafverteidiger-vereinigung.li ). We are happy to advise you on all matters of criminal law and criminal procedural law and represent your interests as a complainant, accused, victim, private party or private prosecutor before the authorities and courts.
