OUR HISTORY

Our firm initiated operations in 1969 as SUCRE & SUCRE. One year after the coup d’etat which marked the beginning of the military dictatorship of General Omar Torrijos in Panama.

When political parties were outlawed, Carlos Sucre C. abandoned his successful public and diplomatic career, and re-established his private practice with his son Carlos Sucre, in an office rescued from what originally was the garage of his house in the neighborhood of Bella Vista. Soon after, Ernesto Arias joined the firm, first as an intern and then as a partner when he graduated from law school.

With the incorporation of new partners and the expansion of its operations, the firm modified its name to SUCRE | ARIAS | REYES, and moved to its own facilities: first in calle 48, Bella Vista; and eventually to its current headquarters in Obarrio, in Panama City.

By diversifying the services offered by our group and internationalizing our professional offer, we open branch offices in the British Virgin Islands (BVI), the Bahamas, Belize and Anguilla, as well as a representative office in Miami, Florida (USA).
