The Advocates Pension Fund of Cyprus, commonly referred to as the Advocates Pension Fund, was established to provide retirement benefits and allowances to practicing lawyers in Cyprus. The Fund was founded on 14 September 1966 and began operations on 1 December 1966, with governance provided by a Board of Directors drawn from the Cyprus Bar Association and local Bar Associations. Its mandate is to deliver secure and sustainable pension benefits to its members in accordance with the regulatory framework for advocates pensions, supported by a Board that includes the Attorney General as President and the Presidents of the local Bar Associations among its members.

The Investment Policy of the Fund, first issued in April 2022, sets the governance and strategy for investing assets to meet actuarial obligations. The policy directs asset allocation through appointed external managers and aims to ensure prudent diversification while supporting long-term funding of the liabilities. As of 31 December 2020 the Fund reported an actuarial deficit with a funding level of 37 percent, highlighting the need for ongoing policy review to ensure long-term sustainability. The policy specifies an expected long-term return of about 2.3 percent per year before expenses with volatility around 4.4 percent, and it establishes funding targets and risk measures including a 5 percent probability that funding could fall below a specified level. The Board is responsible for implementing the policy and monitoring investment performance on behalf of Members.

Member services focus on practical help for lawyers as beneficiaries. The Fund administers pensions and allowances under the Advocates Pension Fund Regulations 1966-2022 and provides tools such as a Pension Calculator to assist Members with retirement planning and benefit estimation. Governance is conducted by a Board whose composition includes the Attorney General as President and Presidents of the Local Bar Associations, ensuring policies reflect the profession's needs. A dedicated administration team handles day to day operations, with three personnel listed as staff as of 11 April 2026.
