I am an international arbitration specialist with 25 + years of cross-border dispute-resolution and corporate-legal experience, grounded in both private-practice and senior in-house roles.
Today I serve as Vice-President of the Executive Committee of the Turkish Bar Association Arbitration Center, where I help steer strategy, rules reform, and panel appointments for one of Türkiye’s leading arbitral institutions. My current board-level remit builds on a decade-plus track record as an arbitrator on the rosters of CIETAC (Beijing & Hong Kong), the ICC, the LCIA, the Langfang Arbitration Commission, and Türkiye’s Insurance Arbitration Commission. Across these tribunals I have chaired or sat as co-arbitrator in high-value maritime, insurance, and general commercial cases involving parties from Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Before focusing full-time on arbitration, I spent 20 years in the C-suite and legal departments of regulated industries. As Regional Head of Legal at Efes Varlık Yönetim A.Ş. and earlier Regional Chief Legal Counsel at Gelecek Varlık, I oversaw multi-jurisdictional portfolios of NPL acquisitions, restructurings, and enforcement actions. Earlier posts with Groupama, Türkiye Finans Katılım Bankası, and Ziraat Bankası gave me hands-on insight into insurance operations, Islamic finance, and large-scale banking litigation.
This blend of tribunal, boardroom, and front-line counsel experience allows me to approach every mandate with a 360-degree view—balancing legal precision, commercial pragmatism, and cultural fluency. Whether drafting institutional rules, deciding complex coverage disputes, or guiding corporates through contentious risk, my focus remains the same: efficient, fair, and enforceable outcomes.
