Shaffan has a broad commercial practice with an emphasis on disputes involving the conflict of laws, intellectual property rights, and commercial remedies.
He graduated from King’s College London with a First Class Honours in Law, and won the Frederick Mostert Prize, and the 8 New Square Chambers Prize for achieving the highest mark in Advanced Topics in Intellectual Property Law. Shaffan was awarded the Maldivian President’s Award for special achievement for his academic performance during his undergraduate law studies at King’s College London. He also holds the Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) from the University of Oxford; and is currently a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) student at the University of Oxford.
He was called to the Maldivian Bar in January 2019.
