Intellectual Property

Protection of intellectual property rights

For many years, we have been supporting clients both in managing their portfolio of intellectual property rights and in enforcing them.

Intellectual property rights protect intangible goods, primarily works, patents, trademarks and industrial designs, i.e. goods of an intellectual nature, which - embodied in tangible objects - are traded. They are of great economic importance and often determine the market and economic success of a company. The legal acts regulate in detail the ways of obtaining rights to these goods and the rules of using them, and also specify what actions of third parties constitute their infringement. Combating unfair competition is a separate legal regime. It may supplement the protection of individual intellectual property rights, as well as constitute a separate basis for protecting the interests of entrepreneurs.

We advise clients and represent them before civil and criminal courts in disputes regarding the fight against infringements of intellectual property rights by third parties, as well as unfair competition. We cooperate with customs authorities in proceedings concerning goods infringing intellectual property rights seized at the border.

In cases requiring it, we form interdisciplinary teams consisting of lawyers advising in various fields of law, but we also cooperate with many outstanding scientists from various fields, especially with representatives of the doctrine.
