The Zhejiang Province Lawyers Association is the statutory self regulating body for lawyers in Zhejiang province. Founded in 1984, it is composed of Zhejiang's lawyers and law firms and serves as the professional home for the region's legal practitioners. It operates under the supervision of the Zhejiang Department of Justice and the All China Lawyers Association, and coordinates with city level bar associations to uphold professional standards and discipline. The association maintains 21 specialized committees and 32 professional committees to guide practice areas and promote high standards of practice.
With a long standing history, the association supports a wide network of membership and resources across Zhejiang, including more than 50 000 lawyers and about 2 000 law firms, reflecting its broad reach and influence in the province's legal services market.
It pursues member development and public service by issuing notices, hosting training programs, and maintaining a range of professional materials including the Zhejiang Lawyer journal and other research. It also operates 21 specialized and 32 professional committees that cover areas such as civil and commercial litigation, criminal law, corporate law, intellectual property, and finance and real estate.
