Seeking for immigration lawyer for student visa application.
I got a Ph.D. offer with an RTP scholarship (full tuition waiver and 36400 AUD living allowance per annum) from the School of Public Health, University of Queensland (Student Number: 49923322, CoE Number: 10B057738). Course start date is 01/01/2026. On November 12, my visa was refused with clause 500.212 (genuine student criterion).
I only have more than a month for enrollment. I want to apply for a visa again by addressing the refusal remarks properly through an immigration lawyer, so that my statements become legally valid.

Thank you for sharing the details of your situation. A refusal under clause 500.212 (Genuine Student Criterion) can be challenged effectively, but it must be done with a clear, consistent, and legally structured explanation that addresses each concern raised by the case officer. A properly drafted Genuine Student Statement, supported by documentary evidence, can substantially improve your prospects on re-application.
Given that your course commences on 1 January 2026, the remaining timeframe is tight, and we may need to examine whether the University of Queensland can extend or adjust your enrolment deadline while the new visa is being processed. This is common in research-based PhD programmes and often achievable upon request.
If you wish, our chamber can assist by:
• Reviewing the visa refusal letter and identifying the exact weaknesses the case officer relied on;
• Preparing a fully reasoned legal response addressing the GTE concerns;
• Structuring your personal, academic, financial, and career evidence to demonstrate genuine intent;
• Ensuring your re-application is coherent, credible, and legally sound.
You may send us the refusal notice and relevant documents, and we will advise you on the strongest way forward, including how to manage the tight enrollment timeline.
