How do I register a SAS in Colombia if one partner is a foreigner and can’t travel?

In Colombia

I want to set up a SAS with a friend who lives abroad and won’t be able to come to Colombia to sign documents in person. We need to know if a power of attorney or consular legalization is required and what steps the Chamber of Commerce will ask for.

First question to you is whee is your freind based? Does he have a colombian embassy or consulate nearby?

It can be done remote but either by going to aan embassy or consultate or by apostilling a power of attorney and sending it to us. The chamber of commerce steps are depending on your business but normnally not so complicated. It will be crucial to plan this because the real problems come when you want to open a company bank account.
