1 month notice to quit in a yearly rent.

I pay my rent yearly. My rent expired March 28 2025. Which I told the landlords lawyer that please, I'll be needing 4 to 6months to move out because of my I and my wife's work distance. But was surprised to see him bring notice to quit dated may 10th to quit by June 11th. That's 1month notice. I pay yearly and don't owe rent. I one month notice right? Because I know this is not right.

Once you stop paying rent as you are presently, you become a tenant at will and are only entitled to a week's notice that the owner intends to recover the premises. Your landlord is lucky to have even given you a month's notice.
