I think my ex-wife is turning my daughter against me. What to do?

In Philippines

Last Updated: Sep 27, 2023

I am from Norway but have lived in the Philippines for the last 6 years. My ex-wife, whom I married in Norway. But now divorced after we moved to the Philippines. My daughter has always been very attached to me and she has been living with me every second week before she started school. But since the distance is a little long. She has been with me every second weekend after she started school. I have had an okay relationship with her mother/my ex-wife. But I also have noticed that my daughter has some kind of fear of her mother.

I have experienced and seen my ex-wife's anger and yelling at my daughter. I can claim with my hand on the heart, that I have never raised my voice or taken hard on my daughter. I don't believe in that kind of behavior. And to the heavy stuff. My daughter suddenly doesn't want to come with me anymore. I was there last night and tried to ask her why and other questions. Every time she answered, she looked at her mother. She is lying in my arms and giving me a hug. But when I ask if she wants to come with me, It is not. I asked if we just go to the mall. But no. Even when I asked if she just wanted me to come there to her mother's house and visit. It is No. But no explanation. Her mother is there and every time she talks to me, she is kind of talking down to me.

I couldn't hold my tears when my daughter was rejecting me like that. And her mother just said. You don't need to be frustrated and you don't need to force her to go with you. But I am not frustrated. I get a little emotional. I am just a human. And I don't force my daughter. If she says she doesn't want to go. What can I do? Go home without her. I feel my daughter's body language and verbal language speaking against each other. I feel there is something that is not right. I don't know what to do. My daughter is 6 1/2 years old. And I don't want to lose her. I rather would like to have full custody of her.
