What possible penalties will be given?

In Philippines

Last Updated: Jul 23, 2024

In the Philippines, is it possible to file a lawsuit against someone who slapped their face, kicked their abdomen, and yanked hair? This happened in public between two women. The individual who was slapped did not have visible injuries, and they were able to report to work the next day without missing any time. Is there a case for this and if so, what possible penalties will be given?

Hi,

Yes, the injury sustained by the victim is subject to a criminal case of physical injury. On another note, if done in public, the crime for slander by deed under the Revised Penal Code may also be filed.
